QASA LAUNCH - SHOE RISERS

Two shoe risers were designed for the launch of the iconic Y-3 QASA model in 2022.
The first one draws inspiration from the textured ribbing engraved on the unique tubular midsole. Brighter volumes showcase these details and elevate the shoe,
while the darker volume subtly incorporates the sneaker name, transitioning from being void within the volume to becoming its sculptural high-relief. The materials used possess both harsh and warm qualities, mirroring the aesthetic suggested by the striking photo shoot.
The second riser pays homage to the neoprene
sock-like upper, departing from the traditional tongue design. A thin, flexible metal plate reaches upward, contrasting with the solid, robust base that evokes the controversial beauty of brutalist architecture.
Despite their smooth appearance, the materials possess rough surfaces, adding depth and character to both pieces. Moreover, the thin name is meticulously crafted through 3D printing, encouraging tactile exploration and engagement.
